The challenge is to develop and design a gift packaging for the brand Sunshine Kingdom Durian Candy. It is important that your design solution provides change and innovation to what is currently available in the market. Mainly targeted tourists as to make ideal souvenirs.

As we know, durian is not allowed to carry everywhere because of its overpowering smell. So, my design direction for it is to enhance durian has no restriction when it's a candy. Therefore, to travel without restriction while you want to have durian as a souvenir, you can go with durian candy.

My concept is to produce a travel bag-like packaging which allows the tourist to carry everywhere while introducing Malaysia’s culture to foreigners.

What's Unique?
The whole packaging looks stylish and modern which will stands out when it's being displayed with other products. The cute illustration on the front panel shows the significant landmarks in Malaysia which allows the tourists to know more about Malaysia.

The candy was stored in a sphere container as the shape of the durian and the container was transparent which allows people to look in and know-how the candy looks like. The candy wrapper is designed with cute durian character's emoji.

There are pieces of knowledge about durian being stated on the packaging. To share more Malaysia's culture with tourists, the handle of the travel bag is made from traditional batik cloth. This unique travel bag is suitable for tourists to buy and give to their friends as a souvenir with authentic local flavour.
